To kick off the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, the stars of The Great Gatsby showed everyone how it was done! Stealing the show, and setting the bar pretty high for the rest of the festival. While Leo and Tobey both looked amazing Carey stood out in her Dior Haute Couture dress. White not only suited her, it seemed to be a trending color throughout the red carpet.

Chicago Street Fashion: Spring Skirts

This spring has been warming up and shorter skirts have been making their big entrance on the streets.  There are a couple different types that have been popular this spring.

floral skirt

A floral skirt is a very classic spring design. But the great thing about floral is that it can come in just as many colors as flowers come in, which is about every color, so there’s something out there for everyone.

Beige Skirt

This beige circle skirt os a great basic piece for your closet that will go with about any color from your spring wardrobe. Neutrals are always useful and can be incorporated into outfits with ease.

Purple Skirt

Having a bright color like this skirt is great for spring. This spring is all about bright and eye-catching colors and a lot of contrast. The shine of this fabric in this skirt also adds a lot to this outfit.

Stay in the sun, and stay stylish!

Lace Heels

Valentino

Lace has always been thought of as something that could only be worn in two ways. Either it was worn on your wedding day in white or, in black, when you went out for the night. Now lace has so many different colors, patterns, and different ways to wear it. Thanks to different designers doing so many interpretations of lace it is now everywhere. Lace can be worn from day to night with no problem. Now that lace has become so popular in apparel, shoes were the next smartest move for designers. Lace heels, or booties add that sexy feel without going to over board. They have been seen featured by designers like; Valentino, and Jimmy Choo in multiple styles, and have also been a favorite on the red carpet. No worries however, these gorgeous shoes can also just ben worn to dress up a pair of jeans or accompany your favorite cocktail dress!

Snake Printed Heels

Sarah Jessica Parker

Time to tap into your wild side! Snake skin has been something that has been up and down the runway season after season, showing up on everything  from dresses, to handbags, belts and tops, but now it’s heading south again, to your feet that is! Snake print, or textured, heels are the best way to turn your average wardrobe up a notch. They are a staple piece for every woman to have!  Snake skin can add just the right amount of lady like feel, if you go with a natural print, but they can also transform an outfit and add some edge. For an edge try a colored or metallic snake printed shoe!
