Fall 2012 Ad Campaigns
Hundreds of advertisements have made their way into our favorite magazines, preparing us for the Fall season. With this comes a new wave of inspiration from creative directors that seek to enhance that customer-and-advertisement experience by creating “ad-etorials”. They tell stories, photograph artistic elements, and simply make fashion much more than a consumer product. The following are my top 5 ad campaigns (Mulberry already took a spot from our previous post), chosen by their story-telling capabilities.
#5 Alexander McQueen: Futuristic, monochrome-vs-color concept heightens the clothes to be represented as true pieces of art.
#4 Givenchy: Cut-off slides add a sense of surrealism to this campaign, making you take a double look.
#3 DSquared2: Who doesn’t secretly love the rebels in class? Great styling and location make this a fun campaign.
#2 Dolce & Gabbana: We’ve seen their Italian-inspired ads for women, but this Fall, menswear gets the spotlight too. The on-location scenery is absolutely beautiful.
#1 Louis Vuitton: Throw 20 models into a train with slightly quirky styling = High Fashion success. The mood of this campaign feels surreal, yet enticing.
