Fashion’s Night Out Chicago!

For those in the Fashion Know, I’m sure you are looking forward to Fashion’s Night Out this Thursday, Sept. 8th. What began as a pet project of Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, to help stimulate New York’s economy in 2009, has grown into a worldwide event, being celebrated in fifteen different countries.

What is Fashion’s Night Out? Well, it’s a chance for shoppers and retailers to come together, usually after store hours (the “official hours” are from 6-11pm on Sept. 8, but check with your favorite stores, as many will have special events all day) to, “celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping.” (via:

As if fun was ever taken out of shopping!

And Fashion’s Night Out is a big flippin’ deal in Chicago. Take advantage of retailers’ special events that celebrate FNO.

The 900 N. They will be offering special deals and discounts, as well as opportunities to win some incredible prizes.

Oak Street Chicago invites shoppers to join them from 5-8. The first 500 people will receive a free tote bag. DJ Mary Nisi will be there all night. And there are so many deals, giveaways, and raffles, that no Chicagoan should miss this.

Macys on State Street will be celebrating all evening, from 6-11pm, starting with an unveiling of their window displays designed by their own Fashion Incubator Designers.

Neiman Marcus will have an event from 6-8pm, with a fashion show of fall trends at 7pm, and restaurants sampling their wares throughout this Michigan Ave. department store.

Water Tower Place will have stores offering beauty demos, mini-makeovers, promotions and discounts from 5-9pm, there will be live entertainment cocktails for shoppers to enjoy.

Intermix on Rush Street (40 East Delaware Pl.) will offer cocktails from Luxbar, sweets from Crumbs Bake Shop, a live DJ, and special spa and beauty service promos from 7-9pm.

There are tons of events going on all over the city, so check it out online. And if you want to have a Fashion’s Night In? Shop between 9am-9pm CST, and Barneys will donate 10% of their proceeds to a great and timely cause: The National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
