What Should I Wear To…?: Macy’s Glamorama 2011

Tonight, Chicago is one of four cities to host Macy’s Glamorama, a premiere fall-fashion event for all of Chicago’s fashion-obsessed. The event is a fashion show and fundraiser, set to the beat of some great music (Cee Lo Green!). This year, Glamorama, at the Chicago Theater, benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Needless to say, there will be a lot of great local fashion going on. Going to Glamorama, and want to look your best? We’re here to help…

While there is no dress code for the event, and the Macy’s windows advertising Glamorama suggest varying levels of formality, we here at infashionchicago.com have a foolproof way to look great and feel neither underdressed nor overdressed.

This fall, it’s all about warm and bold graphic patterns. That’s why we recommend this great Diane von Furstenberg belted dress:

This super-easy dress is available on intermix.com.

Urban Outfitters has one like it for a lot less here. The cut is similar, and the print is very Fall 2011.

Staring at Stars Silky Print Dress

Add a basic vintage belt to the UO print dress.

A fun way to dress these down a bit would be to add neutral thigh-socks under dark leather boots. I like these socks from Urban Outfitters:

Twisted Crochet Knee-high Sock

And these boots, from Frye:

To avoid distracting from the print of the dress, tote a medium-sized neutral leather cross-body purse, like this fabulously embellished Cleobella one:

Bring the glam to Glamorama, ladies!
