Street Fashion Chicago: Fedora Hats

Fedora hats have been around since the 1920′s when gangsters used to wear them, more recently they have shown up on celebrities on summer days and now on USA’s television show “White Collar.” Whatever the inspiration these hats have swarmed the streets of Chicago, these are definitely not the wool fedoras of yesteryear. These days fedoras are worn in the summer with fun colors and textures!

A classic summer day look! Army green cargo shorts with a dark grey burn-out tee and simple, yet interesting accessories. I think that this outfit looks put together and laid back, the fedora adds a fun twist to it!
This Chicagoan is so put together, she instantly caught my eye! The neutral tones of her outfit gave it a rustic look and not to mention the great gold accessories. I think the great rusty orange color of her fedora brings together the whole look.
I love the touches of elegance going on in this local Chicagoans outfit. A high waisted black skirt with a simple white tank top and coordinating pashmina really sets the tone for easy elegance, then adding the fedora with a classic pattern really makes the outfit finished. No matter what your inspiration was from (1920′s or celebrities today) or why you’re wearing a fedora (to hide a bad hair day or to make a statement) I personally love these hats and think that they are a perfect easy summer accessory!
