Chicago Bears Linebacker: Making a Fashion Statement
Think Puck from Glee circa
season 1. Adam Levine, of Maroon 5 fame. No, I am not talking about their
sultry singing voices, but their hair-do’s. That is correct, the infamous “faux-hawk.”
Recently, Lance Briggs, linebacker for the Chicago Bears unveiled his barely
there new do. Although he asserts, “the originator is Sean Merriman,” from the
San Diego Chargers, this is one look that may be taking Chicago by the scalp.
Briggs, in his interview today, voiced his hopes for the whole city of Chicago
to be sporting the hairstyle by the end of the Chicago Bears season. The “faux-hawk”
has been around in sports for a few years now, previously not in American
Football but Futbol nonetheless.
David Beckham rocked this look while playing for AC Milan. Manchester
United hotshot Cristiano Ronaldo also loves the close-side-trimmed-spiky-top cut.
The change may be because of the heat, team camaraderie or just plain fun, whatever
the reason I hope the less hair on top means more points on the field for our
Chicago Bears this season.
