Accessories Are a Must: Gloves

Wearing gloves has always been a fashion statement for
me. My mother never left the house
without gloves, even if she was just going to lunch with the ladies. (Of course, she also wore pantyhose in
90° weather because that was her definition of a lady.) Today gloves are taking on a new twist
and lucky for me, I have a large shoebox dedicated to my glove
collection. From Michael Jackson’s
“one glove” to Michelle Obama wearing “the green gloves” (from Banana Republic) at the
inauguration–gloves are definitely “in” again for all the Chicago
fashionistas. I am a big fan of wearing fingerless gloves layered over fingered
gloves for a look that can be unique. Whatever you do, have fun with this accessory,
as there are so many choices this season.

Gloves are great!
As for pantyhose in 90 degree weather, I actually prefer hose over going bare, to wick away moisture and keep my thighs smooth and dry. “Summer hose” (under 10 denier) is extremely sheer, light, and airy. Great kinds are available from Hanes (Absolutely Ultra Sheer), Pretty Polly (Naturals, Natural Sun Oil), and others. Try a kind that has a polyurethane blend in the fiber.
